Fix Windows "freeze" problem (Tools=>Options=>Advanced)

GSAK runs some utilities (GPSBabel for example) "under the hood" via the windows command line interface. GSAK uses a method called "piping" to communicate information with these utilities. On some computers, (particularly Windows ME) "piping" does not seem to work correctly. As GSAK is waiting on a response it will never get, the system appears to "hang" or "freeze" up. Selecting this option will ignore "piping" and just run the command.

If your system exhibits this problem then check this box. The downside of selecting this option is that you will not get the GUI feedback when running some utilities. For example, when sending waypoints to your GPS you will not get the dynamic status bar that shows the percentage of waypoints sent to your GPS.
