Database properties (Database=>Properties)

This dialog allows you to set certain properties for a database. When the database is opened, these properties will be applied.

Use Defaults - Check this box to force GSAK to use the default properties for this database

Associated view - Select a saved view that will always be used when you open this database. The default option of *Last Active* means GSAK will keep using the current grid layout when the database in opened.

Split screen - Select a split screen format to be used.

Sort sequence - Select the column you want this database to be sorted by when it is opened.

Disable smart names - This enables you to turn off the calculation of smart names. There is quite an amount of overhead for GSAK to keep the smart names up to date, unique, and synchronized. If you don't need smart names for this database, you can now turn them off (especially if your database is large, performance benefits will be noticeable)

Smart name length - Normally smart names are calculated to the length you have set via Tools=>Options=>General. Updating this setting will allow this database to have a different smart name length to the default configuration setting

Force unique cache ID - Some GPSr units have problems if the Cache ID is not unique. The default is for GSAK to make sure this ID is unique (it generates a unique number) in the database (even if the incoming numbers are all the same). However, there is a slight overhead having this option turned on. So if you don't need unique Cache IDs enforced, you can turn this option off.

Run Macro - You can associate a macro to run each time this database is opened

Center Point - When you swap databases, GSAK remembers the last centre point used for that database. All distances are calculated from that centre point. You can change the centre point via any of available options that allow you to do so, but every time you open the database the last centre point set for the database will be the current. In contrast, if you would prefer that every time you open the database it should always use a particular centre point rather that just the last one you used, then set values for this option. You can enter the details manually, or you can use the "Grab current" button to populate these boxes with the current centre point. This allows you to use any of the existing methods to set a centre point, and then use the "Grab current" button, rather than having to enter it manually.

Override config method for matching found and owned caches - Use this option to change the matching information for this database only (useful when your GSAK is used for multiple geocaching accounts). For more information see this topic

Notes - Enter notes here specific to this database. There is also a corresponding macro system variable $_DbNotes which will allow you to read and write to these notes
